Three Therapeutic Methods for Chronic Occult Tonsillitis

Occult tonsillitis occurs when the tonsil develops small pockets or pits called recesses. These caves capture food and form tonsil or tonsil stones. These tonsil stones are particles of bacteria and other dead cells, and they usually have an unpleasant sequence. Although this may sound serious, it is usually not. If the stone is large enough to block the flow of air, it will be unpleasant and uncomfortable, and in some rare cases, it will be dangerous. At present, the only way to treat occult tonsillitis is tonsillectomy. Although this operation may be effective, the recovery is painful and uncomfortable, lasting about two weeks or more. Another method of complete tonsillectomy is to reduce the tonsils by an operation called tonsiloplasty. A tiny needle-like electrode is inserted into the tonsil and emits an energy wave, which burns the tonsil tissue and kills cells. Then the tonsils begin to contract and shrink by themselves. Discuss your best treatment with your doctor.
